I learned today that the link at the bottom of the page to the Blue Sunflower Collection at CafePress.com was broken. This link has been repaired and shopping for Unique Gifts may continue.

Silver Screen Philosophy

I got all involved in watching Charlie Chan movies last night. After several hours of pseudo-Chinese philosophy I felt I should share some of it with you, so here goes...

From Charlie Chan at the Circus
Charlie Chan: "Mind like parachute - only function when open. "
Charlie Chan: "Silent witness sometimes speaks loudest."

From Charlie Chan in Honolulu
Charlie Chan: "When money talk, few are deaf."

Captain Johnson: (Speaking to Charlie Chan about Jimmy, #2 son) "Who is this young squirt?"
Charlie Chan replies: "Young squirt merely chip masquerading as block."

From another Charlie Chan movie The Scarlet Clue

Mrs. Marsh: "You're stupid thinking these people would murder anyone. They're too busy murdering the English language."

Charlie Chan (after bumping a gentlemen): "Oh, I beg your pardon, sir."
Gentleman: "To meet a gentleman who apologizes for bumping you in these days is a rare thing, indeed. He is either a coward or a gentleman. I give you credit for the latter."

From the Charlie Chan movie The Jade Mask

Charlie Chan: My boy, if silence is golden, you are bankrupt."

Charlie Chan (to his son): "Every time you open your mouth you put in more feet than centipede. Remain here and produce nothing but silence."

There are several more movies I plan on watching. I think Mr. Moto and Mr. Wong are coming up later. Perhaps more words of wisdom tomorrow; or maybe not. After all tomorrow will be a new day and new thoughts. I will leave you with this thought, "Fingerprints very valuable if detective can catch owner of fingers."
