Welcome Back To Me

Well, here I am after a 2 year absence. I can't really say why I was gone other than it seemed appropriate to take a break from everything. One thing lead to another and.....well,I'll try.

Originally I decided to take a short break for the beginning of the summer, after all I had just finished up another school year. Then things went south from there. There were many things that demanded my attention so I gave them my attention. By the end of the summer I had to prepare for a new school year. Had to leave the blog on the back burner. The school year began and well.....things seemed to go further south. Suffice it to say that it was not a stellar year, but I survived.

Along came last summer and I still had not returned to blog. I suppose other things demanded my time, or at least worked their way into it. Then, in the middle of a carefree summer; horrors, my computer bit the dust. Took awhile to get a replacement and the laptop was just to finicky to deal with. Summer turned into fall and a new computer. I was well into a new school year and things began to get much better at school, but by that time I had discovered Facebook. Yes, Facebook demanded a lot of my time. It seems that the games were a lot more fun. So I spent another year without the blog, but with a lot of Facebook.

The school year ended on a sad note (the death of a co-workers son and the still undecided fate of education funding in the State of Texas). By now I had decided that, for whatever reasons, it would be a good time to return to the blog.

So, here I am. I will try to continue my installments on my Notgeld collection. I will also be sharing assorted videos that I like and the occasional drivel that come up with or happen to find laying about.

Hot or Cold...It Can Wait Till Later

Things are never the way we want it. It's about 30 degrees outside right now. Well that's too cold. Turn up the heat. Later this summer it will be 90+ degrees. Well that's too hot. Crank up the AC.

I need to dig some post holes in order to put up a new fence. It's too cold for that right now. I know I'm going to wait until it's warmer. Later, when it's warmer I'll probably decide it's too hot. I'll want to wait for cooler weather next winter for sure. One day I'll get that fence put up. It'd be better if someone else did it though.

I need to get out in the garden and do some work. Yep! Too cold. Wait till later is a good idea. Until, of course, it's hot. Then I'll want to wait.

Last summer Chris wanted me to help her clean out the garage. Gee Chris, it's too hot. Let's wait till it cools off. Well it's cool now. And guess what? The garage got cleaned out. Not by me though. I was busy with school work. Chris did it all by herself. Although I did move some boxes for her. It seems that she couldn't reach that high. She was able to clear out a lot of stuff. Look out Goodwill, here we come! The only problem is that she made so much room that I'm sure that it won't take long for it to fill up again.

Where's My Schedule? I Think I'm Running Late

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, holidays give me a lot of spare time. Therefore, I can get a lot of my backlogged "need to do's" taken care of. Well, holidays are also great for getting your internal out of sync. Way out of sync. The same has happened to me or my internal clock, as the case may be.

I generally get up at 4:00 AM to Blog, then I get ready for work, and have breakfast. I arrive at work between 6:45 and 6:55 AM daily. Once at school my schedule is set by the school day. After school I return home; generally no later than 4:30 PM. I may run a few errands on the way home. I will do a few things around the house, do school work, etc. Bedtime is between 9:00 and 10:00 PM. Then we start all over again the next morning. Weekends are not very different. The only exception is I don't go to work. I will do small projects around the house and perhaps run some errands with Chris.

But the holidays!!! I am not sure how it happens or when it exactly occurs. It may be that in the way back, deep, dark recesses of my mind I think (Yes, I do think occasionally!); anyway, I think, "I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Maybe I will stay up a few minutes later!" Perhaps I unknowingly think that if I maybe sleep a few minutes longer the next morning I will catch up staying up later! Who knows?

All I know is that it doesn't work. It just gets worse and worse. Presently, I seem to be going to bed around midnight and getting up at 6:00 AM and having a short nap thrown into the mix during the mid-afternoon. By my calculations, if I return to work on January 7, 2008 I should be going to bed around 3:00 AM. Something has got to change before then. It will. As usual, I will start a few days before the holidays end and will force myself back to bed "early" so I can start rising on time at 4:00 AM. Ahhh!! It will be nice to get back into the normal routine.

I will be on time for school and life will be grand. Until, Spring Break. And don't even get me started on Summer. Summer really throws a monkey wrench into the mix.
