The Answer????

I suppose I have the answer to my own question.

I did a Google search on the term "Sick em". The most prevalent result I got was in reference to a Seattle based punk rock band whose name I won't mention here. I did find a blog post using the term "sick 'em". When I read it they were referring to Baylor University and why they did not attend; apparently because of the cheerleaders ???) and the fact that Purdue pasted the Men's Basketball team in the 2008 NCAA tournament. Still I didn't think that was the proper usage.

I continued to search.

I started consulting online dictionaries and various etymology sites. It was a little hard to find. However, I learned that "sic' em" has its roots in the term "seek 'em". And has evolved or devolved (Take your pick) into it's current "sic' em" meaning "to attack or incite to attack".

And yes, I learned that "sick" is a variant for "sic". It still just doesn't look right.

SIC' EM BEARS!

(Number 2 in the 2009 Big 12 Tournament.)

Baylor 38 - Iowa State 10

Just got a new phone last week.

Sony Ericsson W580i.

I took it to the Baylor-Iowa State game last night. I took Julie too.

I decided to try out the video feature during the game. I recorded the second half kick-off.

The kick-off turned out to be a return by Baylor's Mikail Baker for a touch down. The 93 yard gallop gave Baylor a 28-3 lead with just 18 ticks off the clock in the 3rd quarter.

Sic-em Bears; and they did.

38-10

I was looking at the stats this morning.

In the Big 12 there are 6 teams in the Top 25. That's 50%. Now listen to this. At the end of the 7th week of the season and the 2nd week of Big 12 play, Baylor is not in the cellar. Guess who is. After 2 weeks in the Big 12 play Nebraska, Colorado, and Texas A&M are all 0-2. Baylor is climbing the stairs out of the cellar. They have a lot of help though. In Big 12 play Baylor and OU (Hmmm!) are both 1-1 and tied for 5th place in the conference. I'm happy; Baylor won last night and I spent a great evening with my daughter.

In addition to all of that I got the big kick-off return on my phone. The resolution is a little rough and my hand was shaky from the excitement but here it is from YouTube.

Feeling the Fallout

Geraldine Ferraro has stepped down. After verbalizing an astute observation on her part regarding Barack Obama's aspirations, Geraldine has decided to step down from her position in the campaign. She served as an unpaid "Honorary New York Leadership Council Chair," on Hillary's finance committee. I guess this is the latest round in the tag-team resignation match between the two camps. I believe the first happened last week after Hillary was branded a "Monster."

Elsewhere in New York, Client #9 has resigned. It's about time.

Worst of all though, The Baylor University Lady Bears basketball team went down in flames in the Big 12 quarter-finals. This is the first time they have lost in the first round and the first time that a #2 seed has lost in the first round. Firsts are not that great all the time.
